New Container
End of May
The container pulled up on Bleecker Street last week, and we hurriedly transfered the precious pieces into the gallery in two humid hours. Each piece arrived safely and has adapted to its new environment with aplomb, soaking up wax and polish and the bon vivant atmosphere of the store. Some of our favorite pieces so far are the Louis XVI Buffet Deux Corps, a rare and unusual Charles X Silver Cupboard from 1823, a Louis XV Secretary in walnut, and several 18th Century Copper Fountains.
In total, we have 297 additions both large and small to our inventory. Here is a sample index: 25 paintings and prints, 24 side chairs, 12 night tables, 10 farm tables, 9 arm chairs, 7 mirrors, 6 armoires, 4 grandfather clocks, 2 beds, and 1 rowing machine circa 1920.
